Having been inspired by some of the stories we heard last year, we decided to use your generous donation to help an individual instead of an organization. Through some volunteer work I’ve done this year, we learned of a young lady who has amazed us both with her strength of character. She is a single mother with four young children who was abandoned by her husband when her cancer came out of remission. She has bravely fought on, with a smile and great inner strength, never once complaining. So we cashed your cheque, put the money in a Christmas card and anonymously dropped it through her mail slot with a note from Santa Claus telling her it was for those “extras” that she might need or want at Christmas. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do this.
